What are the I-beams doing on the three bridges? They look like they are bolted down.

Looks to me like they're building personnel protection. People fish off the bridge even when there were signs there telling them not to. Looks to me like they're just putting protection there to make it safer.

That is what I was thinking, they are putting in a retaining wall and will just let people fish off of the bridges.

Back in April, a couple guys working on the 1st bridge said they were putting in the supports to reinforce the bridges. Not sure about the retaining wall, but it would be nice if they do that. . .

Anyone know the reason they are laying gravel cut outs next to the road before you get to the new bridge?

Putting in new transmission lines that are more heavy duty than what they have now. Should mean getting power back up will be easier after the next hurricane blows through!

Since we are asking questions, here is one. Sunday, the newer gap in the pass behind Elmer's Island where the canal that runs under Hwy 1 from Thunder Bayou empties into the pass, had vehicles parked right by the gap. I did not think green jeans allowed you to drive on Elmer's passed right where the beach and the pass meet.

I can see that gap from my camp, and there have been vehicles there for the last couple of years.

Saw those, no idea what that is.. But in Leeville there are some graveled areas every couple hundred yards about 30'x30'. Does anyone know what this could be?

I was thinking parking zones but then I saw one that was behind a guardrail. I got a pic of them I will post.

Entergy is constructing a new transmission line from Golden Meadow to Leeville. The present line in the marsh will be removed after the new line is completed. The rock pads along La. 1 will be used to construct the new structure. There will be a steel structure at each rock pad. Started with the setting of the first structure north of the floodgates today.
