Is it better to fly or would it be too far to drive? Also, how do people go about getting tickets?

Fly into cities a few hours away then rent a car.

Not a jinx thread. I only mentioned LSU friendly bars. I didn't say anything about who would be playing there. I just would like some tips from people that have gone before.

I've driven. Omaha is in middle of nowhere no matter what direction you come from. Roads into there aren't terrible. No idea how far so no recommendation for you.

Barrett's gets taken over by LSU fans, and they are invited to do so by it's management. They will put up LSU gear and banners and such to make it known. They love to have us in town.

Finding rooms is the most difficult thing in my opinion. I've been lucky that I had friends south of Lincoln that I can stay with. And that's a pretty good drive (which is why I drove instead of flying) to consider myself lucky.

The way the CWS tickets are done via the NCAA is something I like. I usually bought a couple of games worth early and the ticket exchange has been great to me getting the games I want. This NCAA method is designed to reduce the aftermarket tickets available, and it works. So be forewarned.

Looks like flying will be my best option. I will probably buy tickets from the NCAA in advance and wheel and deal my way to the games I want.

You don't talk about your trip to Omaha until it is definite that the team is going. You don't make reservations until it is definite that your team is going. You can do research, you can talk to your friends about nice hotels, you can look up prices, you can research hotels on tripadvisor.

Saying you are going to watch the Tigers in OKC on a public thread is just as much a jinx as talking about a no-hitter in the 7th inning.

DON'T DO IT!!!

We drove from BR. Stopped along the way in Kansas City, called Chad Ogea at the Indian hotel and he got us tickets for the Indians Royals game the next day but it got rained out. Once we got to Omaha we got a hotel room and had to switch hotels as LSU kept winning and rooms were reserved prior for the later games.
Got tickets at the stadium for every game that LSU played and went to a few other games as well.

Where in my posts do you see me mentioning going to see any team in particular? I just want to go to Omaha for the college world series this year.

Does anyone know if LSU will play beginning Jun 14th or 15th if they make Omaha?

Can't go for the whole time, so I figure I will try to go to the 2 for sure games and plan around that.

It's a 16 hour drive from BR. It's miserable but worth it once you get there. Went in 09
