We are less then two weeks out. Anything going on to make you think Chrome does it or not. Aspy? BHO? If you believe Alan Sherman he is getting better everyday.

You heard it here first.

That extra 440 yards will wear CC out.

I say he finishes 3rd.

Well, he is gaining weight which is usually a good sign that the horse is not at his bottom. Another huge plus in my book with him is that he is a very professional horse that doesn't let much bother him, and he rates pretty kindly.

I am not entirely sure that he will relish the mile and a half, but then again, I don't think many in the race will be running all that strong in the last quarter.

Candy Boy was declared from the race today. Apparently, Pletcher will be bringing in another one, Matterhorn, because what would a classic race be without 3-4 Pletcher horses clogging the field, but that is why his owners pay the money to have their horses in his shed row. They want to be in the party, and Pletcher certainly gets them there.

In other news, Shared Belief, the two year old champion just made his 2014 debut as much the best in an allowance at Golden Gate. I would assume that Hollendorfer is looking at Los Alamitos Derby along with Candy Boy.

I haven't seen anything that makes me worry about his chances. He is the best out of this group. Victor is going to get him to settle in just off the pace and make somebody catch him in the stretch. I'll be pulling hard for him. Other than the fact I just want to see a TC winner in my lifetime, I really want him to win to shove it up people's asses that say he can't get 1 1/2 miles, and really have no reason to say that and probably only watch horse racing about 4 times a year.

He looked pretty good to me. Just easy does it, but he was by far the class of the field. They also let him get away with pedestrian fractions early. Don't think he was ever really asked for close to his best, but it should start setting him up nicely. If CC goes back to Del Mar as I assume he would this summer, the 3 and up group out there is setting up to be pretty loaded. Should make for some good stakes leading up to BC Classic.

I saw a video of the Matsurak ( ? sp) horse working for Mott. He was being asked pretty handily and the time didn't really wow me, but Mott mentioned that he wasn't a great worker.

Matuszak. Looking at his record 8 starts with 1-1-2 isn't really impressive. I'm assuming by his earnings, he broke his maiden and hasn't won since.

If there is anything I do really wish they would change for the Classics and maybe some other major stakes races like the BC ones is that in order to be allowed to start, a horse has to have won at least 1 graded stakes race or placed in at least two-three. A horse like Da'Tara should simply not have Classic-winner in front of his name. It cheapens the claim. As a matter of fact, given the connections of Big Brown, I am still not convinced that race wasn't a betting set up. Maybe Da'Tara screwed them as well...so I guess it could have been fate. With Big Brown running out of the money, those tri and superfecta prices must have been huge.

Definitely outclassed. He'll finish up the track at Belmont.

I don't even now his name.

The horse that will beat CC, is the one with the bloodlines for that distance. A horse that hasn't run since the KD will also have an advantage.

Those three races wear on a 3 year old.

CC will say F those horses that skipped the Preakness to rest up for the Belmont. Like I said before, that practice should he halted. If your horse races in the Derby, you have to race in the Preakness to get to the Belmont. No more skipping bullshite because you want your rested horse to win the final leg and make more in stud fees down the line.

As long as the pace isn't too fast, CC will hit the home stretch and pull away.

What they need to do is space these races a month apart. Two/3 weeks is from a different era that has no basis in modern reality.
If they did that, fewer horses would skip the Preakness, and it wouldn't matter as much if they did.

You think that would be simple. 1st Saturday in May, June and July. Gives them time to prep for a BC race as well.

Danza is out and they could have ran another 5/16th in the Preakness, Ride On Curlin wasn't goin to catch him that day at least. CC has not hit his bottom yet.

Man, Danza is going to win from his field in Florida?

Curlin 2 min licked a mile today. Apparently looks good.

It would be crazy if curlin's 1st 2 crops had Belmont winners.

Im going with the other CC in the race. Commanding Curves. this horse has a louisiana connection. A down the bayou owner and the horse came out second in the Kentucky Derby gaining on Chrome. lost by only a length and a half. Also the great grandson of Seatle Slew. Here is an article on it.
