Here in Virginia, we do a lot of night bass fishing in the summer months. Water is not as crowded, plus it's just more comfortable in the cool of the night. But...we don't have any water moccasins to hafta worry about in this part of the state. First time I ever fished Lake Eufaula in Ala/Ga was in August. It got up to 104 during the heat of the day and that was just a bit too much for me, so we decided to night fish like we do here. Big mistake. After just a little while we were seeing so many water snakes (and I was just certain that each and every one of them was a deadly six foot cottonmouth) that we hauled our butts back to the ramp and quit that night fishing nonsense, heat or no heat. I just don't think I would enjoy or be comfortable night fishing down there when all I would be thinking about would be a moccasin crawling in the boat...unseen. I sure wasn't comfortable that night, or I should say, those couple of hours. Just wondering if that's a problem for yall or if you don't even think about it?

Cadello they biting right now. Caught 17 keepers the past 2 nights and that's with 2 12yo boys in the boat with me. Could probably catch 20+ a night if I got serious.

I've been here since Thursday and haven't night fished at all. I planned on it, but was so tired every night that I never made it out after dark.
