Another Documentary Suggestion: 16 Acres

Another fantastic documentary on Netflix. It will make you hate politicians and love them, too. Some of them remained great advocates. Some didn't and deserve almost eternal ridicule and irrelevance. Those sound a bit mutually exclusive. You can't really ridicule them forever without giving them relevance, some might say. But that's not true. See bullied kids for an example, except these people deserve it.
Getting back to the movie.
You'll appreciate the effort that went into the construction of the memorial and other buildings. It will give you a great sense of how important the rebuilding project was to everyone. For some it was intimate, familial, holy. For some, it was brotherly and about solidarity. For some, it was about business and recovering financially. For a few, it was about politics. We've already discussed those people. Regardless of their reasons for involvement, all of these types of people pushed their views and every group was affected by every other group. And it was messy. Still, it's really moving that all of these people with incredible, nearly crippling differences have managed to do what they've done.
I finished the movie proud of the United States. The politics of the memorial and rebuilding might bother you, but the fact that despite all of the issues they've made things happen is inspiring, and sort of reminds you of just how useful our government can be when it's limited and how powerful our businesses and citizens can be when given the opportunity to act and voices that will be heard.
The film itself doesn't feel like it has any bias at all. I really felt like I was just given access to the views of everyone involved without being led toward any particular conclusion.
TL;DR VERSION:
9/11 Sucked, and we do some cool shite about it. Watch this.

9/11 will be looked upon in a few decades as the beginning of the end for the American Republic.
And not because of foreign terrorism.

If that was what this thread was about, I would've said so.

In your tl;dr version, you mention " 9/11 sucked and we did some cool shite about it"
Patriot act
Iraq
Afghanistan
Increases in defense spending
Domestic spying
Homeland Security
TSA
Etc...... Does not equal cool shite in my book. No need to watch a documentary that says otherwise
