Watched it last night going in with very low expectations (not a Costner fan at all)
Was pleasantly surprised and thought it was an OK action thriller. Yes, it was cookie cutter in it's plot, redemption of the absentee father and husband yada yada. The opening scene was done well and helped to pull me in.
And CIA chick was hot as frick which didn't hurt my viewing experience.
Did that drug cure him or just let him live to see Christmas?

I wasn't sure what to think about that part. I really thought that she had poisoned him for most of the movie to essentially kill him when he was done but they showed him at Christmas.
I thought the movie was fine, the parts with him asking advice from the people he was torturing/was about to torture was pretty funny. The daughter was an a-hole but not much could be expected from her.
I had lofty expectations when I first saw it because I like Costner in darker roles but this movie really wasn't very dark. I knew once it was in and out of the theater quick with some pretty bad reviews that the movie was going to be lacking.
All in all I enjoyed it but it was nothing to write home about.

How about you put fricking spoilers in the title if you're gonna reveal something to do with the ending... cool guy.

Thought it was OK. The girl served no fricking purpose.
