UPDATE: THE KITTENS ARE GONE, NEIGHBOR CALLED S.O., MOM FOUND DEAD, OTHER KITTENS FOUND ALIVE

Shelter is closed, would SO be the next step or just let the kitten run wild? Its literally almost newborn judging from it's size. It won't come out from under after I got it unstuck, and won't stop meowing.

ETA: not keeping it or bringing inside, my son is allergic.

You better keep that thing. Or I'm sure someone on here will take it.

Posted on FB to find someone to take it, i don't want the shelter to take it, and closest no kill shelter is in Laplace. There are wild animals around here who would kill it though.. so im trying to get it out quickly

Give it to a 4-7 year old down the street. Their parents will be so thankful.

Cat Haven is no-kill, and that kitten would certainly get adopted. Give them a call, they're out doing adoption events all over BR today.

Just DONT bring it to a government run shelter unless you just feel like killing the damn thing.

Not stuck anymore, just unwillingly coming out. I meant I'm trying to get it out of the "wild" quickly.

I'm like 2 hours away from there, stupid question.. but do they pick up that far away? If not I could possibly bring it to em if no one gets it.

eta: they apparently just don't "take" cats:

If you are unable to reunite the cat or kitten with its owner, please submit an admission request below for Cat Haven to accept the cat into our Adoption Program. Unfortunately, we receive many more requests for help than we can honor. As a no-kill organization, we can take in cats and kittens only as space becomes available. We will review your request and let you know as soon as possible whether we are able to help at this time.

Admissions are accepted at our Adoption Center by appointment only. We will contact you if space is available and set up a time to meet you and your cat.

Judging from the pic, it's probably anywhere from4-8 weeks old. The fact that it didn't haul arse when you approached it probably means it isn't feral yet so definitely good house kitten material.
If you can, bring it in and wait to see if someone wants him. Usually kittens that size aren't "alone". Sometimes a few others from the litter will show up. However, it's possible that little guy wandered away from where mama and sibs were stashed - or it's the only survivor.

Cute cat. I got my cat 10 years ago under similar circumstances. Not sure if youve ever taken in a stray, but If you do take him in temporarily. See if he can eat solid kitten chow. Don't give him milk as it jacks up their stomachs.

UPDATE:

Someone else called SO, found the cat's mom dead in a makeshift nest built on the edge of the woods behind here with more kittens.
