Old folks thread maybe or poor folks thread?
I'll go first. Sunday nights were James Bond night and mom and dad would say it's bedtime. I just remember watching naked shadows of beautiful women at the beginning of the Bond movies.
2) One more: my Dad telling me, " Turn the antenna to the left no to the right, HOLD IT, Right there.

I remember Saturday morning was cartoon morning - where all 3 networks showed cartoons all morning. Things like Scooby Doo and Superfriends.
After school we'd eat a snack and watch something like Gilligan's Island or Brady Bunch (both in re-runs/syndication) before heading out to play.
At a certain time of night they played the National Anthem and the stations went off the air till the next morning.
Yeah those silhouttes were enticing but at the same time frustrating for teenage boys.

Movies would run on Saturday or Sunday nights on the networks and it would be a big deal. I remember watching Star Wars, Jaws, and other big movies on TV like a year after they came out or something. I was very young, so I don't remember all the details, but that sticks out.
Everyone watched the news, especially in New Orleans.
TV Guide was a big deal.
All of network TV was a big deal. The whole country watched together.

And networks actually reported the news and didn't have their own agendas.

Growing up on the Northshore, we couldn't get channel 26 in New Orleans. It carried Speed Racer, pro wrestling, etc. and was the Holy Grail of tv. In the late 70's, they increased their signal strength and 7-11 had a big promotion where they sold special antennas that would let you get 26. It was awesome.
Cartoons on Saturday were awesome. Then, you'd wake up on Sunday and they'd have that claymation Davie and Goliath on in the morning. You'd think it was another mindless cartoon and watch but it was really religious programming. Evil adults.

Ah Ginger and Mary-Ann to a young boy Yeah when the outdoors was the only option during the summer because soap-operas were the only other option. When baseball fields and basketball courts were full because there was nothing to watch on tv and video games were yet to be born

I would set my Saints helmet alarm clock for 6am every Saturday, would usually wake up a little early and end up watching 15 minutes of the farm report.
Friday night videos
Seemed like every Sunday around lunch there would be an Abbot and Costello movie on one of the networks
Watched Clash of the Titans countless times on Sunday's also (this in in the NFL offseason)
Benny Hill came on late at night on the weekends (saw my first boob watching this)
Favorite cartoon besides Scooby Doo was Spiderman and friends with Firestar and Iceman.
