Taking my wife to Memphis for a few days of music and fun.

Any suggestions on good places to eat?

Gus's fried chicken. Eat it about 4 times and you'll be happy.

If you go to Rendezvous go downstairs and get the lamb ribs.

I like the ribs at Corky's on Poplar, unless they've changed in the last 12 or so years.

I need to try Gus's.,

Gus's first and foremost...

I liked Interstate over Central. Didn't get to try Rendezvous..

Gus's -- I'd eat it for every meal on my trips to Memphis, if I could.

no...please...no. Hit up either Central or the BBQ shop for the best BBQ in Memphis. The Rendezvous is great for the ambiance but the ribs are mass produced and are hit and miss.

As others have said, Gus's serves up some life changing chicken.

If you are looking for fine dining, Iris and Andrew/Michael are the two top joints in Memphis right now.

Also, if you are in East Memphis, Hog & Hominy is absolutely incredible. Not fine dining, but the menu is one of the most imaginative and satisfying menus you can find.
