It was fun seeing all the different teams out at The Box. Lots of epic games too.

What's wrong with the Super Regional format?

Exactly how did the bracket format work for that? I didn't get into college baseball until well after the Super Regional format started. I looked at some of the old brackets and couldn't figure it out.

loser of 3/4 played winner of 1/6, if team with one loss lost they were gone.

loser of 2/5 played loser of 1/6, loser eliminated while winner plays winner of 3/4 in another elimination game.

Then schedule defers depending on if there are 3 or 4 teams left.

d2 is 6 team regionals still.

3 played 6 winner got #2
4 played 5 winner got #1
Loser of game 1 played loser of 2

And so on and so forth.

Double elimination from jump.

Nevermind I'm totally wrong. It's been awhile.

Some of those scores are outrageous.

Also looks like the #1 seed in the regional didn't always host.

Yes there were 8 regionals with 6 teams in each regional.

West, Midwest, East, Mideast, Central, Atlantic, South 1 and South 2

LINK

here is a link for the 1989 regional where they used the 6 seed thing. It is confusing how it works.

1997 Regional was one of the best regionals.

Having to beat LBSU and then South Alabama twice.

We put up 7 runs in the 11th to win an elimination game against LBSU 14-7 and then went on to win the title.
