Who's fishing the Houma Oilman's rodeo this weekend? Well I know few people actually fish so I should ask who'll be in Cocodrie?

I work in an oilfield office and completely forgot about it . I was planning on taking my yak down for the first time . Looks like I'll be in PAC this weekend.

Yes, one of two reasons why I am fishing tomorrow.

It's a rodeo not a tournament. But that's just a small detail. It's actually one of the biggest rodeos. Hughes prizes just for showing up. Only way to get a ticket is to work in the oil field.

Fishing is probably not even second on people's list of things to do at the oilmen's . It's drinking and sitting around hoping to win a free boat. I've only been once, and never again. Sitting around for 3 hours for 3 nights for a .001% chance of winning a boat, but instead walking out with a 45$ ice chest is not my idea of fun.

Well that makes me feel better. I've got a couple of places in mind for the yak that shouldn't be frequented by many boats.

Don't get me wrong, there will be boats all over the place, but that's just to fill the time when they're drinking at the camp and going to the tent. I doubt too many people will be where you are going to fish in a kayak. There just may not be any parking at the end of the road.

I got me a spot I want to try off the side of the road. Don't plan on going anywhere near Coco.

Was invited for the whole weekend by a salesman, but didn't want to use up all my weekend political capital with the wife. So I'm probably just going to head down with a friend for a day trip.

Have Camp in Coco and have to say I avoid that place every year during this thing. Too many boats and BS for me to enjoy it...I will arrive Sunday to everyone rolling out!
