Just finished the Wire

Loved it, but was wondering about the last season. They seemed like they crammed a lot in. Was the show planned to end that year, it just seemed a little more rushed (and fewer episodes) than the previous seasons. Is there a story, or just my imagination

The fifth season was planned as the last.
I'm a huge fan of the series, but I had a lot of problems with that season. Thought the stuff they had Jimmy and Lester doing was too much out of character.

Most of season 5 wasn't Wire-ish imo. The greatness of that show lies from S1 - S4. But I'll say this...the finale was excellent.

5 was my least favorite. 2 was my favorite.
