Between the years of 98 and 2003 (the year jordan retired and the year lebron came into the league, and i dont count Jordan on his comeback with the wizards as old school kick arse jordan) there was a basketball wasteland...People wanted to have that one superstar to step up and dominate the league but no one really ever distinguished themselves close to Jordan. Kobe was the closest thing to this but he really wasnt in jordans league at the time and Shaq was just a huge body on the inside and thats about it.

Now we have the emergence of Lebron who is hands down on Jordans level and probably better...but lord those were some dark times from 96 to 2003. A time when i, as long as many others, thought the NBA could never crawl out from. Thank God for lebron James The GOAT

The NBA is at an all time boring low. Even the arguing about lebron has gotten tiresome.

Jordan retired the first time in late 1993. Then he came back in 1995 and ended up winning 3 more championships and then retired a second time in 1999... not 1996.

Then he came back to play for the Wizards and retired a 3rd time in 2003.
