Any suggestions? Looking to buy online. Also could use advice on what specs and features translate into? Thanks

that price will get you junk

honestly, that is pretty low-end in the world of binoculars...but you should be able to find something that is adequate...
I would say just go to your local academy or something like that and handle some...once you figure out what you want, you can buy on line..

For $100 I'd go with:
LINK
They sell a lot and get very good reviews for the price level. I've used Eagle Optics for birding for a long time now, there is a reason that a lot of birders use them, though usually higher end models than these.
ETA: One reason I'd recommend these is they are 8x42 which is the most popular size for birding (though I like 10x50). You can get some "name" binoculars for under $100 by going smaller but an 8x30 for instance will bring in only 51% of the light of a 8x42. That's too little light IMO for birding and in any case Eagle Optics is a good quality company that's hard to go wrong with.

This, I know. Anything in the world if optics will be expensive. Is rather tie up money in lenses for my camera. This is just to enjoy and get a temp look before I shoot. Thanks though.

Redfield® Rebel™ 10x42 Binoculars - $170
Yeah I know this is over your price range but this is a FANTASTIC pair of binoculars and it will be well worth your investment

Actually found that pair on b&h. From app so hard to link. Looks like same pair for $135. Consistently cheaper stuff on b&h which is not typical. Thanks

B&H is legit if you haven't ordered from them in the past

A good 3 to 10 power tasco mounted on a 10/22 is a win win dropping birds out to 70 yards easy. Then you can just pick them up to get a good look.

The board has got it right. Binoculars are one of those accessories that are worth spending the money on. I spent years looking through garbage binocs that were supposed to be good enough. Especially in a hobby/sport? like birding, sight is everything. Spend the extra dough. Get some nice Nikons or swarovskis
