Putting a new tire on a tractor today and had a little trouble getting it to take air so had to resort to the old ether trick.

Ether from back in the day was much better for this.

I've never done that that's freaking awesome. Does that fill the tire was predominantly co2?

That's probably the most exciting thing that's happened in that shed in years.

Seriously, that's awesome.

You could ratchet strap it down over the hub Start putting air in it and then pop the ratchet strap but the tire need to be off the ground.. Used to work for a tractor store.. Ether is way cooler though

My bad.. Thought u were talking about the front tire till I saw the pic.. Never tried it on a tire that big

Yep, done that several times. I noticed he didn't get the flaming rag out in time...

That's also a good way to frick something up. In this example, I'd like to know how bad the rag burned the tire before they got it put out, and if it damaged the seam/bead where the tire meets the rim.

If you notice there was a spray of ether put across the tire. This is where it was supposed to be lit. The guy ended up running the rag all the way in the tire.

The ether on the outside of the tire would burn off before the rubber was ever damaged. When the fire went out the rubber was still cool to the touch.
