They showed a map on WBRZ last night quickly, I think it was down Airline Hwy. but I wasn't sure where.

It was a mistake. The area was actually Baton Rouge trying to get into Baton Rouge. They didn't know they were already in because so many of their issues went unattended for so long.

So BR only annexes where the money is and refuses the poor black areas?

Hypocrites?

I think it was some area near the Jefferson/Bluebonnet intersection.

Annexation by Baton Rouge is only for the select few. I posted in another thread the annexations since 2000. LINK

That's what I recall, but why isn't that getting more play in the media.

People are telling us that anybody who wants in BR can come in, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I've seen anti SG people here on this board tell me people were not denied annexation.

Did the property owners in that area acquire the 50%+ signatures on an annexation petition?

They never did give the details, it just said they petitioned the city and for seven years they were denied.

I don't know when this happened, where it happened, or any of the circumstances.

If you have information please share it, because other than what I posted the media hasn't covered this very well.

So you just fill in the details about their meeting the legal requirements by making assumptions? Okay, got it.

Did that happen with the MoL, BRGen, and OLOL? Serious question.

I need to look at the map of the new annexation. There aren't many residential areas between those three complexes. I know there is a retirement community back there.

Just did.

Those dirty fricks basically excluded all of the residential areas between OLOL and the MoL.

I guess hitting that 50% mark wasn't all that difficult.

So only the areas which requested being annexed actually got annexed? Isn't that the way it's supposed to work?

It's shady as shite.

There are huge gaps in the annexed area that basically exclude all the residential areas. I don't know why I thought that it would include those neighborhoods between Essen and Bluebonnet.

Did they even need a petition if there were no residences included in the annexation?
