We are considering making the 5 hour drive over from Denver for Memorial Day Weekend. Any advice on things to do, places to camp, and whatever else would be greatly appreciated.

Paddle boarding down the river
2 day rafting trip
Canyoneering - we did two repels 80' & 120' and hiked out negro bill canyon
Rock crawling hell's revenge
Rent a jeep and take the rim
Ziplining don't remember the company name but they're close to the abandoned gondola. badass!
There's a nice hike that takes you to two waterfalls, one cold and one warm (the warm one had leaches, the cold one had a cliff to jump from)
Don't, I repeat don't do the dinner cruise! Boring as all frick.

The hike really isn't bad. If you make it, be sure t go under the arch and view the sheer cliff face.

Also, be sure to go in the bowl just in front of the arch.

Pick you up a second wife while you're in Utah. They come in handy.

Met Brett one morning while he was taking photos with a client at the Green River Overlook in April. Nice guy.

I did this drive for my honeymoon. Go the back way into Moab off of I-70. Its exit 204 onto road 128. The sign should say the Cisco exit. Very scenic and desolate drive. Much better than sitting in traffic getting to Moab.

Other than that go to Sunset grill for food. Its literally on the side of a cliff with (predictable) fantastic sunset views.

The Delicate Arch hike is a must see.

It does get extremely crowded. I'm talking about 50-100 people may be there at one time. Even worse, there may not be any parking spots available at the trail head at peak times.

I was fortunate enough to haul arse there one morning right after a snow storm in April, which deterred many from being there. I was one of four people there for a whole hour before the hoards of people arrived.

If you hate crowds, go to the Canyonlands Island in the Sky District or Needles District. Lots of open spaces with only a few folks here and there.

As far as campgrounds go, the views at the Devil's Garden Campground (Arches NP) are amazing. So are the views at the Willow Flat (Canyonlands Island in the Sky). Never stayed in them though.

Canyonlands

This is what some people around here have suggested as it will be packed memorial day weekend and this place will likely be the least crowded. I am excited about it. The terrain looks a lot different than what I typically see around Denver and west off of 70

I did a canyoneering trip with Moab Cliffs and Canyons. Good pricing and really solid people. Definitely recommend.

Canyonlands is legit. If you do Island in the Sky you can do Dead Horse State Park as well. Dead Horse Point is one of the coolest lookouts I've been to.

Arches National Park is a given.

If you have time, drive from Moab to Blanding and from there take Hwy 95 to Hanksville and then Hwy 24 back to I-70.

The views on Hwy 95 change every 10-20 miles from Ancient Indian (Feather) Ruins to Natural Bridges to Red Rock Canyons to the Colorado River and the Henry Mountains. You'll run into a dozen cars on the whole journey. This is the most beautiful drive I've been on in America. Plenty of pull offs where you can go exploring. Most of this land is BLM.
