I can't imagine finding something like this. What a treasure trove of old cars.

There's lots like that spread out all over Alabama. Probably in Louisiana too, if you really got out and looked.

Maybe not just finding some that some guy who died had, but they're there nonetheless.

My grandfather started a body shop in the early 60's and ran it for years. In front of it he had a junkyard at one time. When the law of having to be licensed and such to operate a junkyard changed he rented a dozer and buried everything instead of hauling it off or paying fines. There was a ton of old cars out there. I was too young to realize it at the time but looking at pictures from back then it makes me sick to realize what all he buried.

It's not on par with the link obviously but no doubt he buried some valuable cars 20 years ago.

I used to go out to the cars with a .22 and shoot them for target practice too.

Yes, if we could only go back and save treasures that we had no idea were treasures.

I thought it was a gang-banger from the Mississippi Gulf Coast with the 228 on the windscreen.

Cool pictures, thanks. The desert SW is full of vintage car junkyards. If I ever get the notion, that's where I'm headed to find a starting point.
