I hate Atlanta so much - ridiculous that all the white flight rednecks are demanding a stadium in the boring arse suburbs. Atlanta could be a world-class city but this soft racism has been preventing it from happening for 40 years now.
ETA: Somebody should photoshop a "NO BAGGY PANTS OR GOLD CHAINS ALLOWED" sign into that yuppieville/nouveau riche abortion.

No - you have a potentially world class downtown already in existence. Build the stadium there where you can have authentic downtown instead of building some faux "village" so all the $80,000/year millionaires don't have to talk to any black people.

Looks like they are creating the downtown stadium environment you get in most cities, that they could not in Atlanta.

They could totally have an authentic loft/wahehouse environment with cheap land in multiple locations of downtown Atlanta. Castleberry would be prime.

What do racist rednecks have to do with not feeling safe leaving the ballpark at 10:00pm? Or homeless people offering to 'watch your car' for you while you go to the game? Or passing multiple beggars on the street on your way in?
I would think it'd be pretty universal that people would rather not face all those hassles while trying to attend a baseball game.
