Fairly new to the area and it's tough learning that area by trial and error. Goes from 10-15' to inches within a matter of seconds. We spend most of our time trying to not get stuck.

Bringing the SO down this weekend so I want to load up on some fish so she'll have a good time.

Any suggestions?

ETA: Anyone know anything about these guides? Their names show up when searching for Madison Bay and Lake Tambour.

I hear Stu is good but never fished with him. I'd be surprised if they have openings this close to the weekend. Good luck, maybe I'll see ya'll.

Yeah kind of last minute. Worth a shot, though.

Stu is very good. I've fished with him before.

Depends on what are you looking for, getting up in the marsh, or catching trout in Lake Barre. Also, where are you launching. Different ways to get places depending on where you are. Number one thing I can think of is running to get out of Bayou Terrebonne. There are a couple places that are easy, but it gets silted up at the mouth and I've kicked up sand/mud in my flats boat that draws 6" of water. I spend a few hours a week on Google Earth looking for new places to fish.

Thanks for the advice. My dad's buddy used to be a guide down there so he will call around, but if that fails we'll give your guy a call.

Since our camp is in Chauvin, we want to learn Madison Bay, Lake Tambour, all the canals that branch off east of Bayou Terrebonne, and Lake Barre.

Hasn't this guy been in business forever? I think I recall the Ol' Beachcomber talking about him years ago.
