What age are kids getting cell phones these days?

Probably 4th or 5th grade.
I got my phone when I got to jr high because I was staying after school for sport practices so id have to call my mom to tell her staying later than expected and stuff like that.

Niece got one this past christmas. She's eight. She begged and begged. But her parents make her do extra chores every month to "pay the bill". That was the deal.

I didn't get my first cell phone till the summer before 8th grade.. Most of my friends had them way before me but nowadays kids will probably have them around 10-11 years old.

i know a while back it was 12-13, but now i've heard of kindergartners with iphones
