Exclusive: Governor Jindal Tells Liberty Graduates: Accepting Jesus Most Important Moment in His Life
quote:

The Brody File has obtained an exclusive advanced copy of Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s graduation speech that he will give at the influential evangelical Liberty University this weekend.

quote:

The speech focuses in on how religious liberty and people of faith are under attack in today’s culture but here are a few excerpts that caught The Brody File’s attention, including where he talks about accepting Jesus Christ as the MOST IMPORTANT event in his life.

Gov. Jindal's speech will contain his words:
quote:

But instead, I decided to do something new in politics, I told the audience the truth -- that the most significant moment of my life was when I turned it over to Jesus Christ and acknowledged Him as my Savior.
My political consultants then began shifting uncomfortably in their seats…and I have to admit I enjoyed that.
I thought of Matthew 10:33 which says -- "whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.” And of Romans 1:16 which says – ‘For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes…
’”

He will be speaking to a Christian university, so it's not going to be an uncomfortable environment for his speech. That said, I don't know if others in his position would say it like he has it in his prepared remarks. Good for him.

If you have convictions they should be strong enough to be voiced. Otherwise they aren't convictions but just something you kinda sorta believe.

I always thought it was the first time little Payush laid his eyes in this:

Most notable, the bottom right corner.

He should have been paying closer attention to Matthew 6:5-7:
quote:

6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

He lives in a country where 90% believe in God, 70% claim christianity and many of our policies, laws and customs are rooted in christianity.

This victim complex christians in America have these days is beyond laughable. People saying your faith shouldnt be used to dictate legislation does not mean you are "under attack".

Is the speech to be a prayer? Thought he intends to speak to people in attendance and not boastful prayer to God.

Matthew 6:5-7:

Can you discern the difference between prayer and testimony? The scripture you supplied does not apply here.

I'm always suspicious of people who go around proclaiming that they have accepted JC as their personal savior, especially when they are sneaky politicians like Jindal.

Meh, in the end if he ever ran for president he'd tuck all this away in his back pocket just like Romney did with his magical underwear.

Yep. Imagine if these Christians had to hear a Muslim prayer before a city council meeting or a high school football game like folks of other faiths do with Christian prayers.

Always the victim....

Nah, not this.

He would probably tuck away the whole exorcism thing.

Totally agree with you on this, but I don't have Bobby as my gov, so I am not aware of his alleged sneakiness. I do wonder what other politicians are comfortable enough to say what he intends to say in public.

Just think about how pissy they get when someone refuses to say "Under God" when they pledge allegiance or when Obama had a gay priest give the Easter benediction.
