Vatican City (AP) Pope Francis called Friday for governments to redistribute wealth to the poor in a new spirit of “ generousity ” to help curb the “ economy of exclusion ” that is taking hold today.

This is going to be “ THE ONE ”

Bank on it.

As a Christian nation, we want no part of any type of Christian ideology suggested by a Christian.

He said GOVERNMENT. Not people. If he called for people as individuals to be more charitable that would be fantastic. They already tried that in Russia once. It failed spectacularly.

Where in the bible does it say government should take from one to give to another?

To be honest, it would be better to just straight-up give the poor cash instead of the federal government taking our tax dollars and using it on a bunch of useless programs and paying the salaries of all of these employees to run these useless programs.

We could probably save money and be better off if they just straight-up redistributed money.

It is the headline on Drudge.

Really a link or a named site serves the same purpose.

I have heard the NSA is tracking all linkers of truth.

Wow. So what are U.S. Catholics to do?

They vote Democrat they vote for "taxpayer funded abortion" - right? So they go to hell..

The vote Republican, they vote against giving the poor the money of the wealthy - which is against what the Pope says to do - so they go to HELL

Guess it depends on if they want bold hell or call caps hell.

Are you saying that the US of A is not a country founded on Christian principles by Christians?

If we are a country founded on such, the government would follow such principles.

Quit trying to make the US of A some type of unChristian, heathen mecca for atheists and Islamo-fascists.

Its Catholicism. The Bible doesn't have to say.

Sure, but I don't believe you fully understand those principles. Giving is suppose to be expressed freely and not through coercion.

The Pope has to take a vow of poverty. Why wouldn't he want the rich to give to the poor? He's one of the poor.

Our government is a freely elected expression of our will.
