a little trip down memory lane... history hasn't been that kind... the following are players that we traded for in some fashion in the 1st round

Ricky Williams
Mark Ingram
Jonathon Sullivan
Sedrick Ellis

okay.. maybe its recent history.

Come on Cooks break the fricking streak!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have a point so... let this be the I hate the move thread I guess.

Somebody had to do it...

sorry fellas.

2 of those were before CSP

Ellis had his moments

Ingram actually looked legit in the 2nd half.

I know but its important to remember history.

Hoping Cooks can snap the recent trend.

I don't have a problem with him so much. Just the history.

have mercy.

I was an Ellis apologist for years.

Cooks, you fricking a-hole, you better snap this horrid trend, you understand?

Other than Ricky we never really sold the farm to move up.

Good point.

seriously, I'm trying to talk myself into this pick.

Cooks brings a lot of speed to the offense. I like that.

but again, I'm just some paranoid frick who had a bad thought.

Aside from what it took to get him and his cuckooness, Williams was legit.

Ingram and Ellis have had their moments.

frick Sullivan.

Hopefully he'll be Williams minus the circus(which seeing his personality he can be).

We needed a speed/open field threat and we got the best one in the draft. Also we gave up a third to move 7 spots, Cleveland gave a better third to move up four spots.

I don't see why people are worried/complaining?

That trade did not turn out that bad. We got two #1s for him. If you look at that draft, there were only a handful of difference makers in that draft. Ditka also said we would have taken QB Cade McNown if we stayed at 12.

Bone, I want to be right there with you.

I tried to defend Ellis on this board for awhile but I gave in to everyone's constant jabs.

what pissed me off about Sullivan the most was that he was some wasted pick off of a part of the Ricky Williams trade.

I know this has zero to do with the current squad. Zero.

This was one of those things where I had a bad thought and aired it on here.

but I guess I do that too much

maaa bad.

If it makes you feel better, go read that Grantland article linked a few posts down. This kid is EXTREMELY driven and has a great head on his shoulders. You put that behind his production and his physical talents and that's the next Steve Smith without the bad attitude.

Trust it bro.

I did.

I guess apart of me will always have some twisted fan's point of view. Can't help it, just followed this team for as long as I remember so its hard to erase some of the bad memories.

won't ever change.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Cooks can do in this offense.

seeing who went after our pick, I do feel better though.

Yeah we didn't have shite for options if we stayed at 27. Even my emergency pick in Verrett went before that.

Outside of getting Dennard in the trade up, this was clearly the second best scenario imo.
