Multiple long cracks. Is it better I go through insurance? Just pay out of pocket? Other?

Thanks

Depends on what you drive and the size of the windshield. In other words, depends on what your deductible is compared to that.

Whats your deductible?

Do you have a separate glass deductible?

cheapest. Look up a random dump truck company and make them pay for it.

Seriously we need to force them to stay off the interstate.

But the only option is insurance.
(or pay $250 out of pocket, but insurances don't count this as a claim usually)

Get a quote from Safelite and then decide whether you want to pay or make an insurance claim. It will probably be cheaper than you think. Remember you probably have a deductible on you comprehensive insurance.

How long are the cracks and are they in your line of sight while driving? Use insurance, you give them enough money, let them give you something. Unless your just making claims all the time it shouldn't affect your premium.

Eta: I ask about length since many will repair up to 6" and some longer than that.

Mid size car. Cracks are bad (long). I think I have $1k ded.

I figured out of pocket was best and assume $300 in cost.

I don't know anyone in Houma, ask friends or family. Hopefully someone on here has someone they trust. Many will come to your house or work.

I have a $100 deductible on glass replacement from my insurance. It won't affect my rate with Progressive at all.

So what I did twice was go check on Groupon for windshield replacement deals. I would find some that would cost $30 and cover the first $100 of a replacement. So with my insurance, I was able to replace my windshield two different times for only $30 out of pocket each time.
