This is assuming the following:

--At least one licensed "lead man".

--At least one qualified helper.

--Work truck with all tools and a large variety of common parts/materials on truck.

--Business is licensed, bonded, insured, etc. Not just "some guy I know who worked in a plant once".

So, how much for a Plumber, Electrician, HVAC, Home Audio/Video/Security? (One hour service call, warrantied work, etc.) When do you start thinking, "Man, this guy is screwing me!"

I charge $65 for a service call, because I'm happy making that for less than an hours work.
Then parts prices, for appliance repair though.
No license other than my EPA required stuff for refrigeration(Louisiana doesn't license my trade)
I have insurance, a million dollar policy costs me $45 a month
I rarely use a helper but it adds $40 an hour.
(big jobs)

I get "is that all?" asked a lot. But I'm happy and my customers are happy.

All that matters.

Depends on how far one has to travel and if a helper is needed, but a easy $100 for one hour show up time. Now if the job is more hours, that price will drop.

I'm typically looking for $100 - $150 per hour plus a $50 call-out fee for that combination...

when the total bill gets over about $200, I do start to get kinda pissy though, unless we are talking about 4-5 hours of work, though...

--that's half a day's work. You are looking at 5 bills without breaking a sweat.
