Where you putting in? If you fish Big Creek, go from isolated cypresses to alligator grass. Pitch the trees with favorite creature, then let a weightless soft plastic like a craw drift off the edge of the gator grass. Buzz baits are good early.

In the main lake, target trees in the moths of the bayous. Fish all of Horse island. Pitching and spinnerbait.

Last time I was out there, about a month ago, Saline was chocolate milk, and high as hell. Larto was much clearer, Larto is about a 30 min boat ride in a decent glass boat if you launch from Saline.

are these just general "normal may fishing suggestions" or actual reports as to what has been being caught and where?

What I posted falls under "normal may fishing suggestions". I have heard no recent reports. The white perch spawn there was a bust this year.

I would be lying if I told you... we fished around some alligator grass... The pit boss worked well around isolated cypress tress...

It's got cypress trees for sure... watched a YouTube video and it said the hydrilla was taking over... n it's connected to the Red River so maybe the lake in the morning and fish the river that evening...
