I'm looking for the best/nicest Chinese place in the area. I have found a halfway decent Thai place, Pimon, but I am having a lot of trouble finding any Chinese restaurants. Anyone have a suggestion?

Good luck, please let the board know if you find any good Chinese in Lafayette. I'd like to know for times when I'm there visiting family.

Get the Chinese food from Pimon. It's literally the best sesame chicken I've ever had, and it's not even close. Or go get philippino food from Mabuhay. It's fabulous.

pimon is pretty damn good.

other than that, you're looking at buffets or hibachi

shinto used to have best hibachi, but it has plummeted in quality. tried that new place on ambassador (tokyo i think) and the portions were massive

Another vote for Pimon Thai.

I hear a Pei Wei is coming though, and perhaps the long-rumored parent PF Chang as well.

Thai is obviously not Chinese. If you're looking for Chinese hit Mae Soon Noodle House. Very small and dumpy but the food is cooked fresh. Other than that you're looking at buffet food

I like China One, but wouldn't try to sell it as great.

Noodle House is your best bet. Lafayette is much better for Thai or Vietnamese than Chinese.

Maesone Noodle House-their crispy chicken is out of this world. Their lemongrass soup is great as well as spring rolls. Kinda hard to find but it's in a little shopping center behind baskin Robbins on Johnston. Pad Thai is great but don't know if you want Thai or Chinese.

I live right by formosa and have never been. Place looks pretty shady and is always empty but I owe them a visit. Anyone been?

Bro, the sesame chicken is the best Chinese I've ever had. Somehow it's crunchy and soaked in sauce. Egg rolls and spring rolls are both off the chain too.

Never been to Formosa, indulge. It does kind of look sketchy.

This is my answer.
I give my Thai vote to Thai with Love though on Kaliste Saloom.
Mabuhay is great Filipino food as well.
I have never had Pimon though. Need to go soon
