I was wondering what has become of Asamoah Gyan since he left Sunderland. I was full of hope that he has been slogging through mediocrity, going through the motions, about to return to his home country, a national hero, but a defeated man in terms of international football--a shell of a man who will be no trouble at all to the Yanks.

frick.

Ok, while yes, goal scoring brings loads of confidence...let's get real. Seriously, the Arabian Gulf League. I mean could the New Orleans Jesters put up a fight with them? Also, his 13 goals since playing in the UAE...I'm sure a few teams were good, but let's not forget that some of those teams are putrid.

Yes, they put it on Egypt to get to the World Cup. But seriously, Lesotho, Sudan, and Zambia . That makes CONCACAF look like Champions League.

Sudan is 117 in the world
Zambia is 74 (This shocked me to be honest)
Lesotho is 138

Obviously FIFA rankings are ridiculous, but is it really that shocking. Yes, he's good but competition does play a part I don't care what anyone says.
