That has completely different characteristics and aerodynamics from the balls that are generally in use around the world right now?

Remember the Jabulani? Most teams had just weeks to really get used to using that ball, and it played havoc. Set pieces were a crap shoot.

With the Jabulani at WC 2010, no team scored on a free kick until the 3rd round of the group stage.

The MLS and some other leagues are already using it. Also, all of the adidas outfitted international teams have been using it for their home friendlies.

I haven't heard many complaints about it, though I haven't actively researched it either.

i wanna be world class enough to bitch about a ball that is as fricking nice as these world cup balls have been.

don't get me wrong, i hate the $20 sponge balls (ive always used that term, not sure if it's widespread) and some other cheap shite is noticeably horrible. once you are spending like $50 on a ball though, i haven't had any complaints.

There's always a place for a $10 Mitre ball from Walmart.

Never hated a ball that was halfway decent, but there's a difference that I think would be annoying if I was paid to play between a $50 Brine ball and whatever ball was en vogue at the time, and not because the Brine ball was bad.

Select was always my favorite for ball/$.

It wasn't very clear. The Brine balls (#3 is what I am talking about) always felt different to me, though they were usually over-inflated. So, I can understand why players get pissy when balls are changed since even independently good balls can feel a lot different from each other. frick goalkeeper, "OMG, the ball moves" bitching, though.

Solid list. fricking loved one and two. I had a coach who had a bag of number. We jumped at the chance to use them whenever an opposing team supplied some shitty ball.
