I finally accomplished the difficult and astonishing feat of hiking to the summit of Mount Driskill. The highest point in Louisiana is a whopping 535 ft above sea level. The hike seemed to take forever and at first I didn't think I would make it. But a short 30 minutes later I was standing at the summit. I am now one of the few (many) to have made the trip and live to tell the tale.

Recorded in the Summit Logbook to forever prove my place in history.

The vast view from the top of Louisiana.

The Trailhead at a church cemetary.

Abandoned devil worship temple.

In all seriousness it's an easy 20-30 minute hike and if you're ever in the area it can be a fun quick detour.

I meant to take a trip over, but I actually thought that it was all private property...is the trail clearly marked and local folks have no problems with you hiking up there?...

It is private property but they allow you to hike it. The trail is wide and clearly marked. There is really no way you would get lost.

Did this about 5 years ago. One of 5 or so state high points I've been to. Wouldn't mind doing all of the lower 48.
