re: 2 days till Idaho... - 7flat
I live in unit 3, about 20 miles east of Coeur D' Alene. It's super convenient because I have access to national forest with permission from any of the neighbors....

re: 2 days till Idaho... - 7flat
Good luck! My dad and I filled our cow tags Labor Day weekend - I had to buy a freezer. My neighbor got a 330 class bull with his bow. Also 2 more bulls and a cow shot. All in September and all in the same drainage. Been a good season so far. ...

I missed this post beforehand but my wife and I were down there Friday evening. Just hung out in salmon on Friday. Cool part of the world down there. I bet you can kill a mule deer with a slingshot....

re: Elk Hunting - 7flat
Yeah I'm only a half assed hunter but still would like to try archery elk sometime. The bugling is awesome in September. There should still be a little of it going when you are here though. ...

re: Elk Hunting - 7flat
Nice! I live about 20 miles east of Coeur d'alene, but unfortunately I don't know anything about that area. What unit is that? I've got a buddy that hunts near bonners but mostly for mulies. My dad and I drew cow tags for unit 3 and are going to try to get them Labor Day weekend. Good luck....

re: Coeur d'Alene - 7flat
Not tons to do IN cda, but endless stuff within an hour. Lake cruises are cool in town. There's a theme park north of town called silverwood you can spend a day at. It was mentioned earlier but the route of the Hiawatha bike trail just over the Montana line is really cool. It's about an hour from cd...

re: Anyone heard of the giant buck killed in Pride,La? - 7flat
I saw the pics on FB, but no one has any other details in the comments. I sent the pic to my dad so I'm sure he'll know everything before long. I did see this in the comments "Now to all that say pride has no big deer hears proof lol good job" Funny thing is I never knew him to be much of a hunte...

Fly fishing for reds - 7flat
My wife's boss would like to take a trip down to the Gulf Coast to fish for reds. He's a mountain guy / purist so he will be fly fishing. His wife will be going with him, so he's also looking for somewhere that's within driving distance to cabins or other lodging and maybe a decent meal. Any suggest...

re: Shrimp prices - 7flat
Yeah, I'm figuring in the fuel adding $2/lb to the price. I think my dad paid about $12 for jumbos at Brittnys in Baker a couple weeks back, so I'm thinking it will still be worth it....
