re: Anyone heard of the giant buck killed in Pride,La? - 7flat
I saw the pics on FB, but no one has any other details in the comments. I sent the pic to my dad so I'm sure he'll know everything before long. I did see this in the comments "Now to all that say pride has no big deer hears proof lol good job" Funny thing is I never knew him to be much of a hunte...

Fly fishing for reds - 7flat
My wife's boss would like to take a trip down to the Gulf Coast to fish for reds. He's a mountain guy / purist so he will be fly fishing. His wife will be going with him, so he's also looking for somewhere that's within driving distance to cabins or other lodging and maybe a decent meal. Any suggest...

re: Shrimp prices - 7flat
Yeah, I'm figuring in the fuel adding $2/lb to the price. I think my dad paid about $12 for jumbos at Brittnys in Baker a couple weeks back, so I'm thinking it will still be worth it....

re: 2005-2010 3/4 diesel question - 7flat
Bought an 07 dodge 4x4 with the 5.9 this week. 5.9s are rock solid and get decent mileage. 6.0 fords are crap if they arent bulletproofed. I just sold a 2004 dodge 2wd with 250k and loved it. Transmission guy told me most if them go out at 160k to 220k. On my old one, I got it rebuilt at 220k for $...

re: OT Mechanics: 2000 GMC Sierra 6.5 Diesel won't start - 7flat
I took it to a local shop. I didn't want to get in over my head. I did come across a lot about the lift pumps going bad by googling. How would I have checked it though?
Turned the key (not crank, just key on) with the lid off the fuel filter bowl. If if works, diesel will come pou...

re: Propane truck conversion - 7flat
Not really French fries, but it is a distinct smell. I put about $3k in to install it, and figured I have saved about $8-10k since then. Really only good for long trips, since I still have to start/stop on diesel....

re: You're given 1 million dollars to buy land. Where do you go - 7flat
To reply to the op, I would say mt/ id for recreation only. MS/NELa for land that is cheap and can actually grow stuff. Hill country is nice but dang land is high there....
