There’s an 80-year old baw I go to church with that still wields a chainsaw, hunts turkeys, smokes his own sausage, and likes to have a couple beers a day . I always think of stuff like this and want to tell him, “ you know Mr Jerry, what would really help you be healthier is if youd sit in a tub of...

I had a similar thing at a similar age and it turned out to be a varicocele. Nothing life threatening at all, but it did lead to some fertility problems. Luckily we still managed to have a couple kids after fertility treatments. Good luck, if it’s anything serious I’m sure you’re catching it early e...

re: 401k to investment property

I just opened a sdira. My custodian told me any portion that is leveraged has to be purchased with a non-recourse loan and that portion of the income is subject to ubit. However, if you run your numbers you may be able to offset some or all of that with depreciation, maintenance, etc....
Self-directed IRA companies

Looking for advice from anyone who has a self directed IRA. I’m interested in opening one for investing outside the market, mainly real estate. The trouble I’m having is that there are many large custodians that appear reputable, but I don’t see any of them in the IRS list of non-bank custodians. [l...

Not sure if this helps you but I had a house and 10 acres where I split the house and 1 acre and sold that separately from the other 9 acres. I had been there longer than 2 years, and sold the 2 pieces at essentially the same time and didn’t pay any taxes since it was all considered part of the pare...

How are you supposed to access all the tracts off the road if they bust it up like that?
I’d say there’s a high likelihood they end up driving the prices up on the individual tracts so the whole thing is not affordable. Seems like a good way to end up with a bunch of new neighbors. But you never kn...

Following. I have the same plan - about 100 trees. We put 13 in the ground last fall and have 25ish ordered for this year. So far we have Elliot, excel, and sumner, but we are getting our arse handed to us by either caterpillars or deer. Everytime they leaf out and look ok they will get ALL of their ...
