How fricked am I here? Wife wants a pleasure boat for bullshitting around and wasting gas pulling tubes and stuff.

This is just a topic of interest for the for the future and not something I am buying tomorrow, so I have time to fight.

I love my kayak and have zero interest in getting a boat. IF I were to get a boat, I absolutely will not get a ski boat and have let her know that.

I tried to get away with the Tracker Pro Team 175 aluminum bass boat for like $15k, and just getting the tow bar, but "it doesnt have enough seating".

The Nitro fish and ski is about 28k which is absurd.

What am I in for here? I read Alx fish and ski thread from 2011 and have some ideas, but I am still trying to process this.

Just get a cheap deck boat. Doesn't take that much arse to sling somebody off a tube.

A man needs three boats these days.

1) Small aluminum boat for yo-yoing and stump jumping.
2) 17 to 18' bass/ crappie assassin
3) Family style boat for family time.

She's making you jump 1 and 2 and sliding directly into third. Demand more sex, house chores, and quiet time before you walk the plank.

Good luck.

Don't buy new! There are hundreds of small runabouts for sale.

4, you are dead on.

The price of the fish and ski took her down a couple of notches, so I was feeling good about that.

I honestly would not be opposed to getting an aluminum bass rig and throwing a pylon on the back once a month to pull a tube. She just did not like the lack of seating.

I am 110% for buying used. Im hoping I can nail her down on the specific type (that I want), and buy used.

In the past just browsing I have seen older Pro Craft, javelin, etc fish and ski boats for sale at decent prices.

I would honestly go the route alx did and get a smaller bay boat. You can still bass fish and bream fish out of it fine, it'll tow whatever just fine, there's plenty of room. They may not be full of fancy seats but all you need is a seat for you and wife, kids can sit anywhere. And you can tow it down and fish the coast every now and then

Hell tubing when I was a kid we only did it out of small bass boats and fish n skis with barely any seating anyway. It don't take shite to sling a tube around.

Hell there's even the guys that wakeboard with the little aluminum bateau with tower attached.

I figure it will be a few years before my kid can even remotely attempt to do these activities so hopefully this will slowly fade away.

I want to get a Jackson Big Tuna tandem kayak so I can throw young pop in there and let my wife use my commander. This has always been my answer to "family time on the water"

Not sure Im ready to deal with motors, registration, gas, etc...

ETA: I could probably deal with something like this.

That's the way to go. A bay boat is great for tubing.

We tube behind my buddy's 18' lowe center console more than anything else, and it's great with two people in the boat and one on the tube. Everybody else just floats around in the river and waits their turn. Not so sure how great that would be with kids though.

Look hard at a used part barge. You can also use it as a mother ahi for the yak.
