Currently rewatching. In the fourth season. My fourth or fifth time re-watching the entire series.

I'm a registered Republican who's voted 3-2 in my 5 presidential elections, but this show speaks to my better man--no, my best man. Regardless of the party of the president, Sorkin writes the America we should all strive to create. The characters he writes are the ideal--they are my heroes. God Damn their political affiliations!

I still think "Ways and Means" may be the best episode of television ever. Such a tight script on that one---just brilliant. Also, huge fan of "Galileo"--" Cj, you said it right that time..." So true.

"Two Cathedrals" may be my favorite hour of television ever.

Yes, his characters in The Newsroom are "heroic" and we should all be just like them.

He was talking specifically about the characters in the West Wing, not The Newsroom and not just Aaron Sorkin characters in general.

Then I retract. But Sorkin is currently writing an America on another show that we certainly should not be striving to create.
