What internet service provider are you using and at what 'speed' is your package? My typical use is streaming Netflix and all that but I don't think you need some 'prime' service to do this. Am I wrong?

This independent (not ATT) sales guy was saying I should get the ATT Max plus service which is 18GB. This is 44.99 but they are asking for a $99 install charge. Eff that.

Or is this normal.

Cox in BR, 60 down for $59.00 (I did the "I want to cancel" bluff and got it lowered).

I generally get excellent throughput and low latency.

My only complaints are when there's an outage. Hasn't happened in a while, but they when do it's usually middle of the night, when normal folks are sleeping and I'm working on something.

U-Verse is an option in a lot of areas on BR as well. Speed options only go up to 24mbps down, though.

There are often promos to waive the install charge, but if not, you can still negotiate to get it taken off. I did that when I switched from U-Verse to Cox internet. Cox wanted $99 to install. I already had cable buried. It was literally a matter of provisioning my modem (which I also bought on my own) and installing a filter at the node.
