WTF is this guy? His career has inflated like the universe at its inception. He's had recent major roles in:

1. Sons of Anarchy (cut short, alas)
2. Vikings
3. Law & Order SVU

I think he's great all around, but his SVU role is a standout IMO.

Back in the early 2000s he had a good run on a family sitcom with the blonde from Rules of Engagement. Although I swear I don't remember it running 5 seasons like IMDB says.

I bought seasons 1 and 2 on DVD for $5 a piece. I thought those were the only two seasons.

He's about to be starring in Gotham as well as Harvey Bullock.

Not out of nowhere imo. I've been seeing him on a consistent basis for a long time.

ETA:

And he was the right hand vampire man in the movie that set off the comicbook movie explosion, Blade.

2 seasons is closer to what I remember. Maybe it switched networks or something because IMDB says 5 seasons. LINK

I'm pretty certain he was never on Justified.

He was everywhere in the 90's but it was ER that put him on the map (being on a #1 show will do that).

If you haven't watched Comic Book Villains, do so.

I see on IMDB he's had a good career, and if I try hard, I can remember him from "The Practice", but I've never recognized him as a name brand actor before now.

I can understand that. If I hadn't watched Grounded For Life for the hot mom, I probably wouldn't be so familiar with him either.

How did Terriers only get one season? Bring it back, FX!
