Data caps from ISP

How many you actually have a data cap from your ISP?
If you know the answer, what is your gigabyte limit? And what happens once you exceed this limit for your bill cycle?
I'm in the category of not knowing if I have a limit or not. I am with EATEL and haven't taken the time to look at my service agreement.

this is what Comcast tells me:

Note:enforcement of the 250GB data consumption threshold is currently suspended

Data plans are one way to ensure that extremely high data usage users do not negatively impact other customers using Cox's broadband network.

You ought to have to deal with satellite. I get 750MB a day.

Cox tells me I have a limit, but I've gone over it before with no penalties. I got a nice letter telling me I had exceeded it and to try and not do it again. I think my cap is around 250, but Cox's site isn't working for me at the moment to pull up my account.

EATEL
Am not able to locate anything on usage caps.

EATEL wants its customers to indulge in all that the Internet has to offer, whether it is social networking, streaming videos and music, to communicating through email and videoconferencing.
EATEL manages its network for a number of reasons, including optimization, as well as congestion- and security-protocol-management. EATEL's customers generally will not be impacted by the protocols and practices that EATEL uses to manage its network.

It's a soft cap that you really have to go over by a lot or on a regular basis before they will cut you off. I'm sure they will tighten up eventually in order to get more money out of people.

250 GB, I've never come close to it even though I stream a lot of online content.

last month was the our first after "cutting the cord" and we only used 161 GBs
so hopefully even when Comcast does the 250 GB cap, it won't affect us

I got an email from Cox saying that my internet in NOLA had gone over the 250 cap. (I include wifi in my rentals).
Had no idea there was a cap, but no penalty. If this continues, I'll just discontinue offering wifi and make my tenants deal with it.

Cox 25Mb service is 250GB per month. I usually use 300GB per month, nothing but emails so far, and asking me to upgrade.

250GB from Cox.
Haven't come remotely close yet.

Between Lake Charles and DeRidder, just enough in the boonies to not have any other options besides satellite.

300 GB/month. Only gone over once or twice but it's a soft cap and didn't get anything when it was exceeded.

We just got a notice from Cox the other day. we hit 257 gb in a month. Cap is 250. It was a friendly reminder that there are other packages we can buy if we need more data.
Funny that came the very month after we canceled cable.
