Received a quote from my local veterinarian. Sticker shock.

6 month supply for my 7 lb. dog, $213.00.

6 month supply for my 13 lb. dog, $217.72.

What's the Earl K. Long of veterinarian clinics in Gonzales called? Want to check there as well.

If no success, I assume - just like everything else, ordering online is the way to go?

No way. Give me a couple minutes to call my daughter to see what price she can get it.

Absolutely not. It's about double what heart worm is has been my experience. About 120 or so for my 18 LB dog

I treat my yard for fleas (talstar) and I've had no issues with the dog getting them since.

do you have an SPCA by you?

MUCH cheaper if you go to their clinic.

OK, spoke with my daughter. For that, cost around $20 a month. There is a flea and tick that is a couple bucks more. Also, by buying 6 months supply, there is a $10 mail in rebate, 12 month,$25 rebate.

Also, they have Nexguard (a new med) that covers fleas, ticks and Heart worms that cost about the same. BUT, that has to be prescribe by a Vet. The dog will have to also have to have a heart worm blood test.

Her office is in New Roads.

Appreciate the information. Looks like I have more research to do.

I live near Baton Rouge. Don't know the answer right now, but certainly will look into this as well.

I bought this LINK
on Tuesday. It's scheduled to be delivered today.

Am I wasting my time? Where can I purchase Talstar?

Edit, right now I am using this as a topical treatment:

Saw one flea on my smaller dog yesterday.
