I asked my local vet if they matched prices already knowing the answer ...

use trifexis and get flea and heart worm in one pill

Has to be prescribe by a Vet too due to heart worm test.

Never start a dog on HW meds unless tested first. Can kill a dog fast if they already have them.

Talk with your vet about this before giving to your dog. This shite damn near killed my dog. Not really but for two days every month after taking this pill he would vomit all over the place, sleep all day and not eat. Had to take him off the pill. Vet said some dogs cant handle it.
Luckily for me I have a pussy for a bulldog....

I bought this LINK
on Tuesday. It's scheduled to be delivered today.

Am I wasting my time? Where can I purchase Talstar?

Edit, right now I am using this as a topical treatment:

Saw one flea on my smaller dog yesterday.

Not sure on the two products you posted but you can get Talstar from the hardware store on Jefferson and the place, forget the name, on Cloverland Drive by Percision that sells lawn fertilizers and whatnot. I order it from domypestcontrol dot com.
This method has worked fine for me

You can buy from other vets as long as you have the negative heartworm test proof from your vet.

Time to make a purchase. How often do you reapply it to your yard? Do you only treat your area where your pets use the bathroom outside (providing you have a separate fenced area) or do you do the entire yard?

I even asked her that. She said, no this is for a 6 month supply, per dog.

Received a quote from my local veterinarian. Sticker shock.

Buy it online

If in Baton Rouge...

Anyone who doesn't buy their pet meds at the AVS pharmacy on Greenwell Springs is a moron.

Well that is unbelievable
I'm a vet and that makes no sense
Talstar is ok but if you're dealing w fleas Comfortis is by far most effective and worth $ at appropriate price
Should be~ $100 per 6 mo at 99% of places you buy

I do the entire yard. Front, back, sides. The bag says every 2-3 months I believe but I do 4-5.

Same here. Didn't happen for the first year or so that I had him, then one month he just started not being able to tolerate it anymore. Last month was the last straw for me. I'm switching to something else this month.

I did learn from my vet (and experience) that dogs have to take comfortis and trifexis on a FULL stomach or they will get sick.
