I know it is last minute and I hate not having a plan, but can you fine folks suggest a few places near Westheimer and the W Sam Houston Tlway?
I'm without a car and the hotel looks like it has a typical cheesy overpriced pretend steakhouse of some kind. Any places nearby worth a short cab ride?
Not looking for a $75 meal, but want something above your average chain if possible.
TIA

Kasra
Phoenicia
Those are just in the immediate area.
Memorial has some decent places: Jonathan's The Rub, Taste of Texas, Goode Company Seafood.

I don't ever get out that way, but from what I remember, there's not too much close by. Like OSA said, you can head up to the Memorial area and CityCentre.
Pizaro's Pizza is about 3-4 miles from there at Memorial and Kirkwood. They make some kick arse pizza.

Take a 5 minute cab ride over to CityCentre. There you will find mexican at Cyclone Anaya's, steaks and seafood at Eddie V's or Capital Grille, healthy organic options at Seasons 52 or Ruggles Green, and upscale sports bar type places Texans Grille and Yard House. The best crawfish in the city are a couple blocks west of your hotel at Hank's Crawfish...Westheimer at Woodland Park. Enjoy.
