A whole lot of men in this state have received, within the past couple of days, letters from the Selective Service telling them that they weren't registered and they had to do so immediately or else.

LINK

It is only when the calls from outraged people began pouring in that the people at SSS began to realize they had a problem. They call it an error in their computer processing system. It begs the question of why just Maryland? Or is it just Maryland? And is this yet another example of the sheer ineptitude of those who 'manage' some of this country's most sensitive systems?!?!

NOTICE: Telephone lines for the REGISTRATION INFORMATION OFFICE / DATA MANAGEMENT CENTER are currently down. We are working to resolve the issue. In the meantime you can still contact by email at DMCSupport@sss.gov and DMCEspanol@sss.gov

NOTICE TO ALL MARYLAND MEN ONLY: Due to an error in our computer processing system, Maryland men who have already registered with Selective Service may have erroneously received a message stating that they have not registered. If you have registered with the Selective Service System and have a valid Registration number, please disregard the notice asking you to register.

We apologize for this error and any inconvenience this has caused you. We are working to rectify this problem as quickly as possible. No action on your part is required.
