I am. Racism has no place in the world. I stand for One Love, regardless of the color of skin!
Peace!
Peace!

he is piece of shite and racist but honestly who cares what your owner's personal beliefs are. if he is firing black people for no reason or doing something to openly affect the team because of his racist views then there is a major problem but if it doesn't hinder any operations of the team who cares. the only reason this is a big deal is cause the media is shining a giant spotlight on it. Tom Benson could be the biggest closet racist in the whole world but it isn't being blasted across the screen on sportscenter so it doesn't really matter

It will be interesting to see how players react. Do FAs stop signing with the team if he stays? One would hope.

Maybe if it was someone else I could see where you are coming from. But Sterling has been a noted POS for decades in the LA community and beyond.

I just hope he rescinds his ownership.

Tom Benson is like 88 years old. I can almost guarantee you that he's at least a little bit racist. He's from a different time.

I see your point, and I myself am not black, but I feel like if I had an opportunity to sign with the Clippers, Sterling's comments would have to be a factor. Probably not a major or deciding factor, but definitely something to consider.

Benson also isn't banging hot ebony chicks and then sending them racist text messages

Taking his ownership away for being a racist POS is a bit much. If the league were going to do that, it probably should have done so when he got hit with the biggest housing discrimination settlement in US history over who he was putting into his slums.
Maybe the league should mandate that the pre-game festivities for the Clippers should involve Sterline being put into stocks and having rotten produce thrown at him.

Because Benson isn't a dumbass

yeah but everyone is talking about this now. If the League feels that this is bad for business and their brand, which it is, they will do something about it.

OK well then I am glad we don't have a dumbass for an owner

quote:and I would 100% support that. just as the companies pulling their sponsorship. it has nothing to do with them giving 2 shits about his beliefs but if it affects the bottom line you gotta do what's best for business

Not fully mentally checked out yet:
quote:
New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson is donating $5 million to help former Saints special-teamer Steve Gleason, who now is wheelchair-bound with ALS, and his Team Gleason foundation build and operate Team Gleason House for Innovative Living. The gift, Gleason said, will be used as an endowment for annual operating expenses for the home. The house, in New Orleans, will allow 18 ALS patients to live fairly close to self-sufficient lives in rooms where the operation of everything will be controlled by patients’ eyes. The home is scheduled to open in June, and Gleason doesn’t want to stop at just one in New Orleans.
