Just got an offer for the Barclays Rewards card. No annual fee, and 0% APR for 24 months. Two f*cking years.

There is something to be said for giving yourself a loan.

I've done some stuff with Chase Freedom's 15 months. Too bad it's the only card that I'm aware of that's like the one in the OP that gives you worthwhile points on top of that benefit.

I'd like to take advantage of something like this for some house stuff, but hard to pass up points on the opportunity cost. Decisions

Eta: I googled around and looks like I found a landing page for this offer but make sure. LINK

Wow. That is ridiculous. Makes my CSP look boring. But, do the points transfer 1:1?

damn, thats pretty good... Although, I absolutely hate floating balances months to month.

I was expecting to open it and see some outrageous points offer. I'm keeping my eye out for a good 50k+ pts offer right now.

Citi AAdvantage 100,000 Mile Offer

If this offer is still valid you can get 100,000 miles AND Admiral Club membership for free. If you fly American this is a great card. $10,000 spending in the first 3 months required for the bonus.

Whoa, slow down now!

Buckeye, did you go ahead and apply for that 100k offer one too? I saw you did the 50k one in the other thread.

Let us know if you get both bonuses/approvals.

Haven't done it yet. Citi makes you wait 65 days between cards from what I've read.

I did apply for the Chase Ink Plus. That one makes a ton of sense for me to go along with the Freedom.

Ya, that's what I've read too about Citi. Do let us know if it works out when you go for it.

Ya, you're in good shape. You can absolutely clean up with Chase since you have a business. Tell your wife to pack her bags, you're going somewhere.

shite, I don't spend near that... I put about 1-1500 a month on my card.

Whenever I get ready to purchase something big, I'll apply and then charge that.

If I didn't have a business to spend it on I'd shy away from the $10k spending as well.

I could probably get close to 10k spend over three months, but like I do with all things, I'd game my way to 10k without actually spending 10k.

How valuable are AA points?

On an unrelated note, am I the only one who thinks it's a little cheap that Lounge access with the Ink/Bold is only free twice per year?

Valuable to me. The free 1st bag plus free 1st bag for 4 others is saving me $250 in bag fees in May alone.

They can be pretty valuable, especially during off-peak.

Just take a look at their award chart. 100k miles will get you to Europe and back almost 3 times at the lowest level. And who cares really when you're getting the miles for $200?

With point systems, there is two ways to look at it: Earning points through spend or earning points through bonuses. Your personal strategy depends on how much you spend, and what kind of loyalty/what your options are.

I don't think you'll find many cards providing much more at that $95 price point, so you can look at it either way, that you wish they provided more for that kind of money, or that at least you're getting something for $95 as opposed to $400.

That BarclayCard is on my list for the future. No foreign transaction fees is appealing and it's 2X points on every purchase.

It also rebates 10% of travel points back like the Citi AAdvantage cards.

Here's a link to the Milesaver Awards Destinations.

It also has a calculator to put the trip in and see how many miles the trip costs.

Ya, I picked this card up for my fiance and myself since we had a few domestic weddings to fly to this year. Its great for that and covering the taxes on your award flights. When I booked Barcelona on Lufthansa/United with transferred Chase points, I had about $150 in taxes. Paid them with that Barclay card and wiped them away.

I'm going to weep if my Chase Ink Plus manufactured spend disappears. I have so much point flexibility right now with that. Right now I spend about $50 a month to generate 96,000 points a year.
