Is there anything worse in sports than an ump who can't decide what's a strike?

I think each sport has a similar issue.

Refs that don't know what is PI or holding in football suck dick.

Refs that can't decide on what is a foul in basketball suck dick.

Don't judge unless you've done it yourself.

For real.

Put on the stripes and work your way up the ranks if you think you can do better. I'll keep my eyes out for one of you behind the plate in the World Series in 2019.

And yes, I know umpires wear blue shirts and heather grey pants, not stripes. It's an expression, and was also geared towards the poster griping about PI and charge/block calls.

Cue the "Its part of the game" BS excuse. All sports should do what they can to eliminate the possiblity that a man's opinion can alter the outcome of a game.

I liked the idea of the QuesTec (sp?) camera that started in the '02ish era. Camera records and states ball vs strike. Umpire must be consisted x% or more with the camera, or the umpire's job is threatened/lost or something to that extent.
I guess the idea died or just isn't talked about anymore. I watch significantly less MLB than I did in those days though.

I was at the D-backs game Saturday, we had something cookin' as we were down 5 to 6 in the 9th. There was a replay that lasted five minutes and that stupid flippin replay killed any momentum we had.

You want to see the batters screaming about the strike zone? Give them an "electronic umpire" for one season. NOBODY above the 14U age groups calls the upper part of the defined strike zone. The batters will be screaming and soon the fans will be also. You'll see strike outs go up 30% as pitchers realize that the batters can do very little with that....And I'm not talking about the hanging curve that drops to the waist begging to be sent out of the park. I'm talking about the 95mph heater up above the elbows. They asked the umps back in the 90's to call the high strike. They got so many complaints that they moved back down.
