For a family pet... Do the males still spray after being fixed?

Females are just better in general. Males still want to wander, are territorial, and still piss on everything. Spayed females might get fat but you can manage their weight. Hard headed male is just that and there ain't no cure.

I grew up with male dogs, have a female now. I find the males are more attached to you and the female more independent. Never had a pissing problem with males.

Our male aussies were fixed as early as the vet would do it and always squat to piss like a female. No spraying here. Our female is the trouble maker

My female GSP is not fixed but very attached. I think that it is the breed more than the sex.

Gyps get fat and turn into super bitches

Males get fat and stupid.

I have had much better luck with females than males. My females have been more protective over immediate pack than territory and are more reserved in nature. For males, get them fixed early before they start lifting their leg.

Same here. The Golden on the left isn't fixed but the one on the right is and she'd also be really fat if they let her. She's definitely more independent but since she's still a Golden she loves people.

They want in that lake.

Our 2+yr old Lab still squats but with a very slight leg lift. I think this is odd but......

My 2.5 year old female lab was spayed at 2 and is still lean, currently running akc MH tests. People run into growth problems when they spay or neuter a puppy. Those hormones are needed until the dogs fully develop.

You really can't tell how the dog will react. I have a male that is a perfect dog not fixed and a female that was a little bitch until we fixed her. Just read the dogs personality and then decide. I would always fix a female just because I don't want the bullshite.

I wont fix another female. Too many issues with urinary tract.
My males both have thier balls and are more attached than the female.
She is independent as all get it

I have a fixed female. She's not a one person dog and she does her own thing, but she's attached to me moreso than anyone else.
