I'm in Baton Rouge for a couple of nights for a buddy of mine's wedding. Any restaurant suggestions?

Looking for some good food, but nothing fancy. We're staying at the Hilton downtown, so maybe something relatively close to the hotel.

TIA

IPO: Nicer. Traditional restaurant with South LA flare
Tsunami: sushi joint on top of Shaw Center overlooking MS River. I'd at least stop by and get drinks at their bar
Little Village: Italian
Capital City Grill: Traditional restaurant
Chelsea's: Local place. Cool atmosphere under Perkins Overpass
Stroube's: Steakhouse
Harrington's: Lunchplates, burgers, etc
Schlitz & Giggles: Pizza

all downtown or close to

Not to split hairs, but it is not a 'traditional restaurant'

Anytime I'm in BR for a visit I now have to visit Coyote Blues at least once so I can get their duck quesadillas (they are amazing!)

Parrains or Mike Anderson's for seafood. Both are an easy drive from Downtown.

TJ Ribs for BBQ.

George's for burgers.

Last time I was in Baton Rouge, I ate at Bistro Byronz. It was pretty good.

I didn't know what the hell to classify them under so I went to their site & under their "About" section they labeled themselves as a traditional restaurant with a SLA flare

Well thats misleading on their end..i wouldn't call a southern tapas/small plates 'traditional,' especially in a city like BR, and the layout of that place certainly isn't either. Food's good though. I went recently for the first time in a while and enjoyed it.

If you want Swai, go to Acme Oyster House,

If you want local catfish, try somewhere else.

I have never, and I repeat never, been impressed with Tsunami's food.

Little Village is the only good restaurant downtown that I've never left unsatisfied. (ETA: That sentence sounds weird.)
