“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

A spokesman for Mr. Paul, informed of Mr. Bundy’s remarks, said the senator was not available for immediate comment. Chandler Smith, a spokesman for Mr. Heller, said that the senator “completely disagrees with Mr. Bundy’s appalling and racist statements, and condemns them in the most strenuous way.”

Ironic that Bundy wants 'free stuff' from the Feds & is willing to recruit his Far Right wingnut buddies & their women/children to protect him.

I thought this was a pretty good post from a guy at another forum.

quote:

And so the dance continues.. On mark, the BLM has said "there is no deal on the table".

They pulled back only to create a new game plan. My hope/FEAR is that this plan will involved a LOT more federal agents next time.

This guy isn't sitting in some easily accessed city. He is surrounded by like minded civilians who will tip him off the minute any large gathering of Feds get off a plane or come rolling down the highway.

And this isn't some child molesting illegal gun smuggler like the Branch Davidian compound was built up to be.. The only thing this man has been charged with is illegal grazing... PERIOD...

So they need to think Long and HARD about whether they want to bring back 1000 armed federal agents to arrest and likely kill or seriously injure this man on something as fricked up as GRAZING CATTLE!! Do they really want to make the point that they own everything on the back of this man?

If the BLM/Feds decide to dig their heels in on this guy, they are in for a real fight and they better bring it..

Chances are they will go the pussy route and try and get this guy and his family to break some bigger law, like tax evasion. Since he supposedly got 1 million dollars worth of free grazing for his cattle, they could say that it was a freebee that can now be counted as Taxable income(like a gift) and charge him the full taxable amount plus back penalties and interest.. When he doesn't pay, they have him on Federal Tax Evasion charges, which is very serious...

This is how they will work at him.. They will sick the IRS on his friends and family. Suddenly we will find out that one of his Cousins is a child molester, his aunt was married to a rapist, his kids smoke weed and did drugs and allegedly SOLD drugs...

Keep ratcheting up this shite, till he finally calls it off and sells off his herd on his own and loses his house and land and his family....

They are good at this shite, they have kowtowed dictators of entire countries with these same tactics. He doesn't stand a chance.. The only chance he has, is if they are stupid enough to come back with even more and more heavily armed goons.

So you think he's disappointed in the fact that because blacks are being aborted and put in jail, he can no longer use them to pick cotton... umm no.

I'll come back in a few to discuss but gotta work on something...

If you replaced "picking cotton" with "learn a trade" then his point has some validity. The cotton remark is the only thing bigoted because it implies that he thinks they aren't capable of any other career.

You can argue that welfare acts like slavery in that it makes one dependent and largely inhibits a persons capability and motivation to better oneself financially

What does rand paul have to do with Bundys remarks?

Just because Paul thinks the Government is out of line and overreaching doesn't mean he agrees with all of Bundys beliefs.

Cliven Bundy is your hero. You claimed him as one of yours, so now he's yours. You own him. Sean Hannity owns him. While sane people were telling you he's a right wing loon you wouldn't listen. Your guns are more important than truth and now he's your flag of racism... your typical badge of dishonor.
