I don't really post here, but thought I'd give this place a shout. I thought it was pretty good. I got the crab nachos and they were solid. Best part though was the $4 old fashioned's. They were also doing $3 martini's if you're into those. The place is worth a try imo.

Whats the atmosphere and decor like? Is it deli-ish, or more quiet? Carpet or wood floors? Bar? If so, how many seats and was it decent?
I could go on.

It's kind of got a modern feel to it. Dark wood floors and tables just jogging my memory. One of those deals with the kitchen visible to the seating are. I would call it a quiet date type place but I went around 5. The bar isn't that big but the specials are on point.

I honestly have never been to a restaurant that identified itself as a "Bistro" that was not great and one of the better restaurants I've eaten at. Don't know what it is about them, but all/most of them are great stuff.

This the place on burbank close to walkons? Thought it was called Breeks bistro. Also, are they open for stuff other than lunch now?

I went for lunch a couple weeks ago, and left impressed. Got a simple panini sandwich, but everything on the menu sounded good. Sat at the "pasta bar" that overlooked the kitchen, and everything coming out looked really good. Not sure how well it will do in that location, or how often I will go.

I went last night. The food was good, but the place was a ghost town. We were the only table. I hope it makes it.

Yea it was empty when I went too. I don't think they've started marketing it too much yet.

Ive been a few times and its been really good every time. The GF got a few different martinis but they had a huge selection of flavored vodkas and stuff. And all of them were $3. We really enjoyed it.

bump.

Just went for lunch. Had the Southside Pasta. Was very good and will be returning.

I suggest people to go try it out. Summer is here and the area shouldnt be swamped with LSU people.

They need to axe the hostess for lunch imo. Our waitress was also pretty awkward. The two people were waiting on me because I wasnt there yet and apparently she asked them if they wanted appetizers about 4-5 times. I was kinda in a i hate the world mood and she was way too bubbly. Even if I was in a good mood, its like damn girl stop laughing at everything. She also brought our checks out when we werent even halfway done with our plates.

All the food was very good though. I hope the place makes it

I don't think too many people know this place exist. I'm planning on getting a drink there later this week. Picked up lunch a few weeks ago and enjoyed it.

I had no idea it was there, and that's a shame. I post on a F&D board and only vaguely remember the announcement that this place was coming (and then forgot). That means non-food-interested people definitely have no idea.

Also, opening right before that entire area becomes a ghost town for the summer is dumb. Either they did it purposely to work out the kinks, or they made a dumb decision doing that.

All of those things being said, I loved the food and loved the décor.
I definitely want this place to succeed, so hopefully the ghost town right now was done purposely to perfect everything.

Also.. as Jones said, no need for the hostess. They're throwing away money having a hostess right now. She looked bored to tears.

I are there yesterday and was very impressed. I have the sliced brisket sandwich on sourdough with green peppers, herb jus, pepper jack and something else.

It was delicious

Today's Groupon is Breck's.

I loved the place, so if you're wanting to try it out, grab a Groupon :D

Baton Rouge food market can be awfully tough.
This looks like another of those places that once people go once they might not ever go back.
Looking at the menu, not sure this place will make it. There have been some really good concepts that just don't take in this town.
