Apparently, they are focusing on John Wayne this week. Some of my favorites later on in the week....The Quiet Man, McClintock!, The Shootist.

When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.

A buddy of mine just bought the only remaining hat John Wayne wore in Liberty Valance, it was pretty cool to hold a piece of movie history. I think there was originally 4 that he wore while filming and this is only left, random I know

Went to see "The Searchers" on the big screen last year for Cinemark's Classic Series. It was amazing experiencing it in the theatre.

No telling with him, he is big into movie and music memorabilia. Has some pretty cool one of a kind stuff

I watched "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" last night. I'm pretty sure I didn't doze off, but I have a couple of questions...
Where was Tom Doniphon for the 30 (or however many) years between his and Valance's deaths? Was Pompey hanging out with him the whole time? I assume he left Shinbone, because his ranch was never re-built and the newspaper people didn't know of him. But if he was gone that long and had bad memories of the place, why'd Pompey bring his body back to Shinbone?
Bonus question: Was Larry McMurtry's Augustus McCrae partially inspired by Tom Doniphon?
