The placement of a sound bar audio system

So I got a new tv has the x looking Samsung stand. If I put a sound bar in front of it, I'd have to push TV too far back and I do t think itd look that good that way. Can one put sound bar behind TV and not lose audio quality?

If the stand's not blocking it much, I doubt it will make a huge difference. Those stands are pretty thin if I'm remembering correctly. Just make sure it's placed close to level with your ears when you're sitting down.

soundbars suck. buy a receiver with a pair of decent front speakers and add to it if you are short on money. Some of Onkyo's low end receivers run in the 2 to 300 range and are pretty good receivers just lacking a good bit of inputs and a few frills. If space is a concern for speakers, they make some pretty good bookshelf speakers that sound great and worse case scenario is if you get some towers in the future, you can move the bookshelves to the back.

+1. Got it on sale for 15% off a few months ago and it sounds amazing.
If I had a real "theatre" setup in my house I would like a full surround sound system.
